Chapter 33
Gabi’s POV
We had a good time getting ready tonight. I am glad now that I had my first real hair appointment this week, and had my nails done. The lady came and did mine and Von’s hair and makeup, and Luna Liz’s makeup. I have to say I never in my life knew how much it could improve your appearance. I sat and watched while she got the Luna’s ready, and they were already beautiful before, but after she was done, they were stunning, like models. I was excited about getting my turn now. The lady asked me questions about how my dress was, to know how I wanted my hair done, and Von went and got it, and laid it on the bed for her to see.
The lady was talking out loud to Von and Luna Liz and was saying that she wanted to do my hair up with a few pieces pulled down and curled, as it would show off the beautiful neckline of the dress, but the curls would be kind of playful and keep the bun from looking too mature for me. She did a nice updo for me and made it kind of a messy bun, to keep my age in mind. She told the Luna’s that she was planning on making a light smoky eye to show off my stunning blue eyes and pinky-nude lips as mine were full and didn’t need to be played up. I just closed my eyes and let her work her magic on me. Von and Luna Liz both got dressed while I was being worked on, and when I was told to open my eyes, I gasped at my reflection.
I looked beautiful sitting there. I looked classy and elegant as well. But I would not have recognized myself if I didn’t know for a fact that it was me. I went to touch my face and she told me to not touch my face and smiled at me, telling me, “It is all you honey, you are a stunner, but you were beautiful before the makeup too”. She had been speaking to us all while she had been working and she had found out that I had met my mate earlier today and we would be getting to know each other tonight at dinner. She gave me the tube of lipstick that she had used on me, winked at me, and said, “So, you can reapply as needed”. She collected all her equipment, and I went to get my dress and shoes on. I gave her a hug after I got dressed and told her, “Thank you so much, I feel absolutely beautiful, and I know I have never looked better in my life than I do right now”. She teared up at the compliment and gave me her card and told me to call her and she would get me ready for my Luna ceremony when we have it, before exiting the room.
We heard a knock at the connecting door and Von called out, “We are all ready, Heath, you can come in”.
“Von you look stunning” Heath said and swept her up into a long and heated kiss, and I think, he would have kept kissing her, but Luna Liz then cleared her throat and said, “There is a young one present” and started laughing. Heath put Von down, gave Luna Liz a look, and then said, “Gabi doesn’t mind her parents being affectionate” and winked at Luna Liz. I have to admit, I love how much they love each other, and I want that for myself.
“Gabi, you look stunning. I wouldn’t have recognized you, as I have never seen you in makeup. You are always beautiful, but in your makeup, you could be modeling on any stage, little one. I will even go so far as to say that you will be the most beautiful girl here tonight, and that is going to make Taylor even madder. I am glad that I have backup and Alan and Hudson are up for the task. Unless I am dancing with Von, I will be there with you, so don’t worry. I am glad you have such a strong mate, or we may have had a problem tonight”, Heath told me and took me into a hug.
“Gabi, we have got you a little gift as congratulations for graduating with a great GPA, and for making the team. You have done nothing but work hard since you came to us. We could not be more proud of you if we wanted to be, so we have gotten you a little something. I got you the necklace, and Heath got you the earrings”, Von tells me, and I see Heath reach into his tuxedo jacket and pull out a velvet box and hand it to Von. The lid gets opened and I see a beautiful diamond necklace and earrings set. The necklace had to be at least 2 carats by itself, and the earrings were easily a carat each.
“I cannot accept that from you, it is too much. I don’t want to lose something so beautiful”, I told them.
“No, it was bought especially for you, Gabi, and you will be able to wear it to the event tonight. It will look stunning on you, and we have really not spent any money on you at all, Gabi. You are content with being given anything, and you take care of all your items, as if each of your personal items, like your worn books, were very valuable to you. We both know that you will take great care of these items and we can store them in the safe when we get back home if you want us to, but if I were you, I would wear the earrings every single day. They won’t get in the way of your weapons at all, and that was Heath’s thought process in it”, Von told me.
“I will wear them tonight, and we can put them in the safe when we get back home and discuss it then, I am ready to go back home tonight. I actually wouldn’t mind skipping Taylor’s party if I could, but I actually want to get to see my mate, so I will put up with anything to do that”, I told them. I am so excited to see him, he was so handsome, and the party started about 10 minutes ago, he was probably waiting on me to come down now. I won’t leave him waiting for me, especially with Taylor roaming around here, probably looking for him right now. I put the earrings on, and Von did the honors with my necklace, and I looked up to ask if I looked OK, when I saw them standing there both looking at me with tears in their eyes.
“Don’t cry Von, it will ruin your makeup. I hope those are happy tears for you both” I said to them, and they both nodded and went in for a hug. I was so glad for them to be here with me. I would not have gotten through today without them and Luna Liz, even the guys had my back, and I would appreciate them being with me tonight in case of any problems.
We exit the door and enter the hallway with Heath and Von at the head of our group, and me and Luna Liz following behind them. I saw Hudson notice me first and did a quick double-take that probably hurt his neck and then see him smack Alan in the arm, while Alan was looking at his phone.
Alan was quick to say, “What the hell Hudson, why are you hitting me?”. Hudson motioned towards me, and I saw Alan also do a double-take at me and them both staring at me as if they had never seen me before in their lives.
“Um, guys, it is still me. I just had a really talented lady do my hair and makeup”, I told them, and I blushed, but thankfully for the makeup, they wouldn’t be able to see it.
Alan gets over the sight of me all dolled up first and comes to my side and offers his arm. I just shook my head and accepted his arm. Hudson stepped up to Luna Liz and offered his arm too, and she smiled and accepted his arm. We would have to walk down the staircase for two floors to get to the 1st floor. This is an older packhouse and only had an elevator recently installed at the back of the packhouse to help people move in and out of it.
The music got louder and louder as we took the landing over to the last stairwell down to the main floor to join the party. Alan was a perfect gentleman and I have to admit, he really looked nice in his tuxedo, as did Hudson. They both looked dashing, and I knew that the girls would be coming around to see if they would dance with them.
“I am so glad we are on guard duty for you tonight,” Alan tells me when we get about halfway down the last stairwell.
“Really, why?” I asked him.
“Your sister was very touchy with me earlier today and wanted to dance with me and him tonight. Both me and Hudson told her that we couldn’t do it, that we had work to do. She didn’t care and didn’t stop touching me until your brother made her stop. She is very forward. I am just hoping that we can get through tonight, as she has like 200 people here, without her coming back over to me for any reason. I will gladly throw Hudson under the bus, to avoid her”, Alan said, and I started laughing.
“Don’t you DARE Alan, I heard you say that man. We are on the same team, don’t push me onto her, I want nothing to do with her either” Hudson said, and I laughed even harder and had a broad smile on my face.
Luna Liz, Heath, and Von were all cracking up as well as we stepped off the staircase, and I saw a tall figure cutting a path straight towards me. He looked mad and I didn’t understand why he would be angry. We haven’t even gotten a chance to talk to each other yet. I can see four people training behind the path he is making, as everyone in his way is clearing the way for him and I can feel the anger coming off of him in waves.
Heath tilts his head at Tanner coming towards us and then lets go of Von's arm and steps forward into Tanner’s path. Heath said, “Calm down young Alpha, they are not together. Alan and Hudson are both on a work detail for Gabi tonight. Just in case, and for her protection while we are here. You are cleared to be with her, but calm down, Tanner. There is no problem here, we were all laughing because of what Alan had just said. That was it, she wanted to meet with you and learn about you too. There is no problem here.”
