(Gabriella)
I glanced up into the mirror, my eyes wandering to my face as I saw the makeup artist apply some pink lipstick. I had never worn makeup before, not like this..I felt so beautiful.
All day I have been spending time with Teresa and Jolie..the whole time was such a new and fun expierience as I just sat back and enjoyed their company.
I've never had this before..a feeling like I belong.
Jolie and Teresa seem really close, I can tell they have known each other for a really long time and I loved hearing the stories about Jamie they shared.
Then I started to notice Jolie would get a sad look in her eyes..one that seemed lost in thought as she gazed over at my dress or down at my engagement ring.
She and Jamie seemed to have a brother and sister type of relationship, so I almost forgot about what Jamie told me, how Jolie had a crush on him.
But after a while those sad looks seemed to disappear and we all just laughed and had some fun.
"Oh sweetheart, you look stunning." Teresa whispered while placing her hand to her chest.
"I can't wait to see you in your dress."
She added happily as the makeup artist stood back before admiring her work.
"Okay, all done, you can get dressed now and I will see if you need any touch ups afterwards." She explained, making me nod before standing and walking towards the bathroom where my dress was.
"Let me help you." Jolie offered as she followed me in, leaving Teresa outside as she spoke with the makeup artist.
"Are you okay?" I signed while mouthing the words slowly so she could understand me.
Jolie seemed surprised by my question before smiling softly.
"Yes, I'm managing..honestly, I was a little surprised you asked me to be your maid of honor..not that I didn't want to be. But I was sure Jamie told you about my little incident in Aspen." She said warily as I nodded, making her pause momentarily before continuing her work on the back of my dress.
"I don't want you to think I'm still hung up on him..like..okay..this is hard to explain and maybe not the best time..but I want to get this off my chest so you don't have to worry about this." She rushed out as I placed my hand on her arm encouragingly.
"I thought I loved Jamie at one point because he was always there for us..ever since I was a kid, he was always there. When I would get picked on he would defend me..when I was sad, he cheered me up..then with the Nolan stuff, he really stepped up for our whole family." She began to explain as I looked down at my hands briefly before that gross feeling of jealousy began to rise up. I had no reason to be jealous..but a part of me was envious that she knew him longer than me..that he protected her longer than me.
"But after I told him how I felt..and how he shot me down immediately after...he said he saw me more as a sister..and it stung to be honest, but then I started looking back..I wasn't the only one he treated that way, he was the same with Rylan and Nolan..but the moment I saw him with you..." She continued, making me glance up as I met her eyes.
"I witnessed a side of him that I didn't even know existed..I saw what it was really like when Jamie loved someone. So don't worry about me okay? This is your big day and I'm so happy I met you..and whatever Jamie stuff I have left, I am working through it..It might take some time..but just know it's nothing against you okay?" She explained before wiping a tear from her eyes as I leaned forward and hugged her.
I could see this was going to be hard for her and felt horrible for putting her through it..but I'm glad she is here..and I'm glad she is my friend.
"Okay, let's get you dressed before Jamie busts in here wondering what's taking so long." She laughed as I couldn't help but join in.
"Jeez, for someone who doesn't speak you sure know how to get people to talk." She muttered and I just smiled at her happily before stepping into my dress and pulling it on.
Jolie helped with the buttons and stepped back, letting me turn around, the sight of me making her gasp.
"Wow, Gabriella..you look incredible." She whispered as I glanced down at the white long-sleeved gown, feeling my cheeks warming from her compliment.
It looked even better than I remembered..I can't believe this is really happening.
Then there was a soft knock at the door.
"Gabby, they are ready for us in five minutes." Teresa explained as I nodded to Jolie before stepping outside and seeing Teresa.
She slapped her hands over her mouth before tearing up.
"You look so beautiful!" She sobbed, trying not to ruin her makeup as she fanned at her eyes.
I smiled brightly, feeling my own tears start to fall as she came over and hugged me tightly.
"I am so happy to have you as my future daughter." She whispered, making me cry even more as the make up artist walked over.
"Okay, that's enough, you don't want to ruin your makeup!" She laughed as we pulled away.
Then the wedding planner Rebecca popped her head in from behind the door.
"Mrs. Sinclair, we are ready for you." She informed Jamie's mom as she nodded and let go of me before glancing back one last time.
"See you out there. Jamie is going to absolutely love it." She added before leaving as I let out a shuddering breath.
"Come, sit here and I will do a quick touch up." The makeup artist stated while pulling out the chair.
Then there was another knock on the door, making my heart jump as Jolie looked at me before smiling.
"I got it." She walked to the door before opening it as the woman fixing my makeup glanced towards me in the mirror..I think her name was Britney..I am so bad with names.
"Listen, this isn't personal..but you know they wouldn't just let you go through with this.." The woman said as my brow furrowed in confusion...what was she talking about?
Suddenly she reached for a cup filled with coffee that she ordered earlier as my eyes widened in shock.
I shook my head no, trying to scrambled out of the chair but it was too late..
"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" The woman suddenly exclaimed, making my heart drop as I looked down..
The whole front of my dress was now covered in brown coffee.
"What happened?!" Jolie yelled before coming to my side as I just looked up at the woman responsible for this..tears springing to my eyes as I couldn't believe they would do this..I knew exactly who she was talking about..
I should've known...
"Gabriella, it's okay..we..we can try to fix it..what the fuck is your problem? How did this even happen?" Jolie began to yell at the woman as she made some excuse of me reaching for a tissue and spilling it on myself.
I just sunk to the ground, my heart shattering as my dress was now ruined..what do I do now? I..I can't go out there like this..
"What's going on? Oh sweetheart.." Rebecca, the wedding planner came rushing in before looking down at me.
"Get this woman out of here immediately." She said towards the doors as two large men came in and escorted her out.
I placed my face in my palms, my body trembling as I tried to think of what to do.
"Did you get burned Gabriella?" Rebecca asked and I shook my head no.
"Okay, come on, let's get you up..we have a wedding to get you to." She stated as I looked up at her in confusion before motioning to my ruined dress.
"I know someone who can help. Now, you just get this dress off and clean yourself up okay? I knew I should've brought my usual team..I apologize Gabriella..I should've taken the threat of your safety more seriously." She said quickly before helping me up as Jolie wrapped her arm around my waist.
"I need to make a few calls, but don't you worry..worst case, you will just be a little late." She winked at me and I couldn't believe what just happened.
They tried to ruin my wedding..I feel so stupid for thinking they wouldn't do anything..I have to stop being so naive.
Rebecca had her team of people here in less than ten minutes with a brand new dress from the exact same designer..which was crazy. It seemed like it was meant to be.
Then I tried the dress on..and the moment I did..I knew this was the one I was meant to wear...this dress was like it was made for a princess straight out of some fairytale.
I felt not only beautiful, but sexy and confident as well..and as soon as they added the veil, everything was perfect. This was a dress worthy to marry my prince, Jamie Sinclair in.
This was the one that would make Regina and my sister choke on their words..I just knew that it would blow them all away.
