Chapter 14 - Rejecting A Wolf

Two hours wasn't a long time, and before they knew it. The time came for the rejection to take place. As soon as the time was up, Morel reappeared in the conference room, where Alaric and Lily were seated.

"It's time." Morel coldly uttered before waving her hand and taking them with her. When the reappeared, they were in the room with Aurora, her parents and Kent. Alaric was surprised to see him here, he guessed that the witch brought him along also, which meant his father was nearby. Most likely just outside the door waiting. Alaric met his father's eyes for a split second before her lowered them.

Anderson stood along with Renee when he saw them appear. He nodded at Morel, who nodded back.

"You will repeat my words to Aurora." Morel moved and stood in front of Alaric and told him.

"Aren't you going to loosen her restraints?" Alaric couldn't help but asked.

"If that was a good idea, her father would have let her go a long time ago." Morel shook her head and explained to him.

"Now come," Morel beckoned him to follow her and went to the foot of the bed. They stood shoulder to shoulder as Morel asked Aurora. "Are you ready, child?"

"Do it." Aurora whimpered as she twisted her hands to face upwards. Anderson and Renee both went to her sides and grabbed a hold of her hand. Morel flicked her wrist and a flat piece of wood appeared in her hand. She silently handed it over to Anderson.

Anderson took it and pressed it against Aurora's lips. It was a mouth guard, something for her to bite down on, so she won't accidentally bite her own tongue out.

Aurora understood and opened her mouth, Anderson placed the guard inside her mouth before once more caressing her head, he turned to Morel and nodded. Everything was ready now.

'If things get rough, you let go of her hand, Renee. Don't forget you are pregnant.' Anderson reminded Renee through the mind link, and she nodded. Everyone was in positions and the rejection ritual was ready to start.

"I, Alaric Lynx, future alpha of the Lunar pack., firstborn son of Alpha Kenneth Lynx, reject you, Aurora Dale, as my mate and as my luna." Morel said. Alaric opened his mouth and made a squeak noise.

He tried a few more times, but each time he tried, he felt like he couldn't breathe. Alaric began to hyperventilate and was crouching down, holding his hands over his head.

Seeing this, both Kent and Lily made a step forward to go to him, but Morel held her hand out to stop them from moving closer.

"Get up," Morel cold ordered him, "Get up and say the words."

"I....can't" Alaric gasped as he tried to breathe steadily while trying to say.

"You can, if you have to paused at every second, you will stand up and say the words." Morel bent and touch his back. Her magic surged through him, and she helped him overcome his panic attack in seconds. "Say it, Say the words. Not for your sake, but for that child of yours. For Aurora's sake, say the fucking words."

Alaric struggled, his wolf was fighting with him. Fighting him not to reject Aurora. Morel could see the fierce struggle between them and decided to forcefully cut off their connection for sixty seconds.

"Say the fucking words,"Morel shouted at him, and he felt the presence of his wolf weaken. Doing as instructed, Alaric said the words in one shot.

"I, Alaric Lynx, future alpha of the lunar pack, firstborn son of alpha Kenneth Lynx, reject you Aurora Dale, as my mate and as my luna." Alaric pulled himself up and shakily stood up as he said dully.

"Here it comes! Renee let go of her hand now!" Morel shouted at Renee. She was confused, but she let go of Aurora's hand and blinked.

In that split second, Morel exchanges spots with Renee. Morel held Aurora's hand and pressed it to the bed. She sent magic into Aurora and circulated it throughout her body.

Aurora's muffled scream tore through the room. Her body pressed taunt against the restraints. The only parts of her body to touch the bed were the tips of her toes, her hands and her head.

Each of her hand were held down forcefully, and so was her head. Anderson kept her head straight with all of his might. This wasn't the worst of it yet.

All this happened in seconds. Renee turned her head to Alaric who was barely standing to her, she watched as Alaric fell to the floor and began foaming at the mouth while seizing.

It seemed like he began to scream, but that was overpowered by Aurora muffled screams as Aurora's aura leaked out.

It violently pushed Renee back, it was so strong. The strongest aura she had ever felt came from the body of her daughter. Renee had no choice but to step back even further. Even Kent and Lily had to pull Alaric out of the violent aura.

It went on like this for a long time. Hours felt like it had passed, but in reality only a few minutes had passed. Renee looked at Alaric, he was unconscious in his mother's arms.

But his parent's gaze wasn't on him, it was on the ominous aura swirling around in front of them. It was continuously building, they could hardly even see the three of them anymore.

'Crack!' The three of them flinched when they heard it. Their gaze stayed locked in front of them.

'Whoosh!' the aura dispersed in three breaths. They could finally see the three of them again. Morel was sitting on the floor, her chest heaving up and down. Her face was pale and sweat was dribbling down her forehead.

It could be seen that it took a lot out of her. Anderson on the other hand was on top of the bed, The restraints on Aurora were ripped off. He sat with his back against the headboard and Aurora was in his arms. His forehead pressed against hers.

"Rory," Renee whispered as she made a step forward. "Anderson, Rory she?"

Anderson raised his head and looked at his mate, this also gave her a glimpse of Aurora's face. It was so pale, Aurora's light brown skin was so pale it made her look gray. So Gray, it was as if she was dead.

"The rest is up to fate," Morel muttered. "I'm going to do the other one."

"Wait! Can't you do something more?" Renee hurriedly shouted to stop Morel from leaving.

"I've done all that I can. She'll wake up if it's up to fate." Morel shook her head and said. "Between this involuntary state of unconsciousness and being awake now. I pray she stays asleep longer."

After saying her piece, she disappeared from the room. Leaving everyone but Anderson confused. Renee looked at her mate, who dully looked back at her. Realization hit her.

"You know what she meant, don't you?" Renee said in a tone just above a whisper. Anderson bit his bottom lip and nodded.

"It's the very reason why I asked her to help." Anderson spoke, his voice came off hoarse. "It was to hopefully kill Aurora's wolf."

"What the fuck did you just say?" Renee looked at Anderson in pure shock. She felt like she was looking at a stranger.

"If you only knew what was about to happen, I assure you that you'd be having a different expression." Anderson told her. Renee decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
