Chapter 6 - Rejecting A Wolf

Nderson felt the aura, and immediately turned his head in the direction of Alaric. He let his own aura swirl, ready to take down any threat. Aiden was more aggressive, pushing Cherise to his back and crouching and growling lowly.

He was already aggressive, to begin with.

While Jason turned his head towards Alaric, his eyes flickering from their usual brown to complete black. His reaction was more placid. His mate only shifted and pulled Henry towards her, just in case.

"It's fine," Kent rose his voice and said, "Give me a sedative now."

"Kent, what the fuck is happenng?" Lily mumbled after Kent spoke. Kent gave his mate a pointed look. "What the hell is going on, why is Alaric like that? What exactly happened here?"

"Lilian, now is not the fucking time, okay? " Kent whispered harshly to his mate as he took the sedative from a warrior and stick it in Alaric's arm.

"Now is not the fucking time?" Lily lowered her voice, and she lowered her head, tucking her chin and pointing it to her chest as glowering at her mate. "Okay, you fucking jackass. Give me my son."

"Lily...." Kent realized his blunder and wanted to apologize to her, but she only glared at him, making him swallow his words of apology. "Lily, this is not something we should be talking about in the open, okay? Calm down."

"Fuck you, give me my fucking pup!" Lily snarled, stretching her arms outwards to collect Alaric.

Kent could only gently give Alaric to Lily, he knew if he gave Alaric to her in a way she didn't like, she might just slap him.

With Alaric's limp body in her arms, Lily bent her knees and tossed him over her shoulder and began walking towards the car they came in.

"I expect an explanation, Kenneth," Lily paused her steps and said before resuming her walk. She laid Alaric in the back seat, fixing his body before closing the door and getting in the driver's seat.

'I'm fucked, I'm thoroughly fucked.' Kent thought as he watched his mate take his son out here.

"Find me Maya Francis," Kent barked out and the head warrior quickly moved. Vince moved and went to the teachers, where Maya was sitting numbly.

He glanced at the teachers, who nodded to him in confirmation. He walked up to the young woman and squatted in front of her.

"Can you stand up?" Vince asked as she put out his hand, Maya looked up at his face and paused. "Come on, kid, the alpha is not in a good mood."

"His day is about to get worse." Maya croaked back to the warrior. Her words confused the head warrior and the surrounding teachers. Nonetheless, she took the palm offered and stood with his help.

The two walked across the parking lot, Vince taking care of not passing close to the Maddox and Dale families. Kent, on the other hand, the expression turned darker as the duo near him.

Vince was trembling when they finally reached Kent. This mixture of blood and other wolves cleared halfway to Kent. Vince didn't have a very powerful alpha bloodline. However, it was strong enough to notice the faint scent coming off Maya.

Maya was pregnant, pregnant with Alaric's baby. Vince pieced together why this parking lot bawl happened in seconds.

"Speak of nothing, you know nothing. I order you as your alpha." Kent lowered his voice and ordered the head warrior, who bare his entire neck in submission. "Leave us."

Vince bowed and left like his ass was on fire, eventually everyone in the pack would know of this if it wasn't handled properly. This scandal could shake the pack at its very core. The council getting involved would be a result of this scandal leaking.

Kent looked at the girl in front of him expressionlessly. Her naked body was covered with a blanket and her head hung in shame. Kent could feel his wolf stirring, his wolf acknowledging the smell of its grand pup.

Kent wished he could get rid of the child in her stomach right now. But he had to calm down, exposing this here would bite him in his ass later.

"Mind linking your parents, they will meet us in the pack house." Kent ordered Maya calmly, but he was anything but calm on the inside.

"Everyone involved will meet in the pack house."

The last part was said to the Maddox and Dale families. Although Anderson wanted to rip Kent a new asshole, he held back. He could see how Kent was struggling to keep calm.

Jason also could see his old friend struggling, he could only conclude it was the baby. Jason hated the fact he'll have to take Jace to the pack house, but gave in to the order. Regardless, Kent was the alpha.

"Follow me." Kent gritted his teeth and said to Maya.

If he stayed here any longer, Kent felt like he'll either rip a hole in Maya or carefully tend to her. Kent knew a decision had to be made immediately.

Wolves were incredibly protective when it came to their offsprings. And if he could feel a need to protect Maya, then Alaric's wolf would be torn between his mate and pup.

Something his mate would never accept, Aurora would either lash out and try to kill Maya or everyone around her. They could not keep her sedated for months, and neither could they keep Jace sedated.

That baby needs to die. Kent prayed to the moon they could do it before anything got any more complicated.

Kent turned and began walking towards the woods. He intended to run back to the pack house, but after remembering Maya was pregnant, he stopped. Or he was forced to, his wolf wouldn't allow it.

She was still early in her pregnancy, this meant shifting in early pregnancy was a big no. The pressure of reshaping from human form to wolf form was incredibly harmful to a pup during early pregnancy. It may cause a miscarriage.

'Vince, get me a fucking now.' Kent barked the order at the poor head warrior.

Vince was flabbergasted, they ran here. How were they going to get a car unless they borrowed one from the staff.

Sighing, Vince walked up to the teacher's group and asked them. What else could the man do? Luckily, the teacher's cars weren't parked anywhere near where the action from the fights happened.

And Vince took the keys from the first person to hand them to him. Which were the two teachers, Kevin and Lily. Vince jogged to Kent and gave him the keys before pointing out the car.

Kent nodded before grabbing Maya by her upper arm and hurriedly walking to the car, letting his aura wrap around them to avoid any mishaps. The last thing he need was a wolf strong enough to smell the pup in Maya again.

The two sat in the car and Kent drove them out of the parking lot to the main road. Clenching the wheel the entire time, he sped to the pack house.

Maya tried her very best to remain small and quiet. With her hand on her flat stomach, she could only look out the window as the drove at high speed through the forest roads.

Pulling up, Kent froze and cursed. He completely forgot the nearby pack was scheduled to visit today.

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" he cursed as he slammed his hand on the steering wheel. "Stay in the fucking car, don't even roll down a window." He quickly ordered Maya, who meekly nodded in response.

Kent pulled the hand break as he parked the car and quickly exited the car and put on his best political smile. His delta quickly ran up to meet him with a questioning gaze. The delta saw how the Luna arrived angrily, even ignoring the guests in front of the pack house.

And now his alpha also arrived in a mood he could not explain but could only say was whatever happened at the high school was worse than everyone was letting on

"Welcome to the Lunar Pack, I'm Alpha Kenneth Lynx." Kent smiled, putting out his hand for the other man to shake also knocking the delta out of his own thoughts.

"I'm Alpha Tom Walker from Haven." The other alpha took Kent's outstretched hand and shook it. "I have a feeling this might not be a good time."

'What an instinctive bastard.' Kent thought to himself. 'Then again, he must have been here when Lilian passed by.' Kent's eyes shifted to the car Lily stormed off in.

"I'm pretty sure I saw your mate and son." Tom smirked and continued talking when Kent didn't respond immediately. "If it's a situation you can't handle, I'm glad to lend you a hand."

"As if I can't handle my own pack. And we need to reschedule this meeting, Tom." Kent pulled back his hand and said coldly.

"Find by me, not like our Haven is going anywhere. But next time you stop by. We are a new pack. I have many things to do, I can't be running up north for every meeting." Tom raised his brow at Kent's coldness before politely demanding Kent come to them.

Kent really wanted to knock Tom's teeth down his throat, but with the potential bomb waiting in the car, he was in a rush and Tom knew it.

'Damn young bastard.' Kent sneered in his mind. Tom had to be a pretty good alpha in order to get authorization from the council to build a pack. A new pack popping up was no small feat.

And to push him against a wall like this, Tom had a talent for reading a situation. What else could Kent do, the baby situation was not going to solve itself while he stayed here arguing.

"My delta will reach out to you, Alpha Walker." Kent said, trying hard not to gash his teeth together.

"Perfect." Tom clapped his hands together, smiling in joy. "We'll get out of your hair. A pity our meeting will be postponed."

Tom waved his hands and his warriors got in their respective cars. Tom said goodbye to Kent before getting into his car. Kent watched as the Haven pack drove away with clenched fists.

His delta, Bryson, came up behind him and silently waited. The exchange between the two alphas just now was beyond awkward, especially seeing his alpha on the losing end.

"Where's your luna?" Kent growled out, making Bryson shiver. The holdup anger in Kent was rolling off him in waves.
