Chapter 38 - The Lycan King's Gamma

Gamma Kailen Steele

To say that Hunter and I got nothing done would have been an understatement. After we ate in my office, we couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves. It was like being a teenager again, and sex was new and exciting. I don’t even know when we actually got some sleep. But here it was the next day, and I was in my classroom waiting for my students to arrive. I couldn’t get Hunter off of my mind and I just wanted this class to be over so I could go find him. Or maybe he’d find me after class.

“Hunter?” I called out to him through our link.

“Beautiful?” He answered.

“What are you doing after my class?”

“I have my class. Is everything okay?”

“No, not really.”

“Beautiful, what’s wrong?”

“I really need you to come to my classroom and rip my clothes off.”

The link went silent, and I wondered what he was doing when I mindlinked him. It wasn’t until he threw open my classroom door and came rushing in, did I realize he was coming to see me.

“Beautiful, you’re such a pain in the ass.” He breathed out.

“You could be a pain in mine?” I asked him, licking my lips. He came over to me and picked me up out of my chair, placing me on my desk. He was now standing in between my legs.

“I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but I love it.” He said before he crushed his lips to mine. I licked his bottom lip, asking for entrance. Even I didn’t know what had come over me. All I know is that I wanted him.

He thrusted his tongue into my mouth, tasting every inch of me before our tongues fought for dominance. My arms around his neck and my hand were in his hair as he pulled me impossibly close. His hard cock pushed up against my thigh, made my panties wet.

We’re pulled out of our moment when the classroom door is thrown open and my students walked in. Good thing we still had our clothes on. We both pulled away, panting, and he rested his forehead on mine while we tried to catch our breath.

“Stupid class.” I told him through the link.

“Don’t worry, I’m coming back after to finish

this.” He mindlinked back. He pecked my lips before helping me stand up from my desk.

“I love you.” He mindlinked me before we left.

“I love you too.” I linked him back, watching him leave. All eight students smirked at me as I turned my attention to my class.

“Alright, the show is over.” I told them, sitting down on the edge of the platform.

“If you’d like, we could always come back.” Mr. Cooper shrugged. I pushed my lips into a line. Is it terrible that I would love to take him up on his offer?

“Did someone not do their homework?” I asked him.

“Of course I did it. You just seem distracted.”

“Then you can answer my first question. What makes an alpha challenge illegal?” I asked him, changing the topic off of Hunter and I.

“Cheating with the use of drugs or weapons. Also, claiming of the Luna after the fight,” He answered.

“And why is claiming of the Luna illegal?” I asked him.

“Because she isn’t property,” he answered.

“Very good, Mr. Cooper.” I praised him. A lot of alphas these days still view their mates as property and not as equals. Just then, the door to my classroom opened up and Jake walked in, taking a seat at the back.

“Prince Jake, is there something I can help you with?” I asked him.

“I was looking for Hunter. He ran out of our meeting. I assumed he was coming to see you.” He answered.

“He was here, but I’m sure you could call him.” I told him.

“I’ll catch up with him later. I might learn something here.” He said.

As soon as I realized Jake wasn’t leaving, I had this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach and I was so glad that I had eight alphas and betas sitting in front of me. I didn’t want to be left alone with him.

“Of course, Prince Jake,” I said, before turning my attention back to my class.

“Future Alpha’s, if someone was to challenge you for your title, how would you handle it?” I asked them.

“I would make sure the Luna was somewhere safe, before accepting the challenge,” Mr Carter called out. That answer warmed my heart.

“Before accepting, I would have their claims investigated.” Mr. Cooper answered.

“Both are brilliant answers. Protect the person you love and also see if the claims are true. An alpha can always be challenged, but most times, it’s in a stressful situation. Try to defuse the situation first,” I told them.

“And what if the challenge is over the Luna?” Jake asked me.

“Then it’s an illegal challenge. A Luna is not property.” I answered him.

“A challenge for the alpha title is a challenge on how the pack is being run. If someone finds that you, as an alpha, aren’t doing your job, they can challenge you for your responsibilities as an alpha. But your Luna is not part of that deal. A Luna has every right to choose her mate,” I answered.

“Alright, so let’s discuss the pack of Blue Mountain Ridge.” I told them.

“How about we discuss the Opal Mountain pack?” Jake chimed in.

“The lone northern pack?” Mr Cooper asked.

“Prince Jake, that’s not a pack that we will discuss.” I told him.

“And why not?” He asked, standing up from his seat.

“You don’t want to tell all you students that you are actually the alpha of that pack. And the former alpha claimed you as his, so you killed him.” Jake told my class while walking down the stairs towards me. I heard my class gasp at what Jake had just said.

“Prince Jake, I’m not here to discuss my personal life.” I told him firmly.

“And if you can’t sit and listen, then leave.” I told him.

“That’s okay, princess. I think I heard everything I need. But I’ll be seeing you again.” He whispered, running his hand up my thigh. I was about to slap him when he moved away and rushed out of my classroom.

Watching him leave, the memory of his voice hit me like a ton of bricks. I was back in my cage at the auction. A man approached the cage, but I didn’t see his face. I kept my head down, looking at my feet.

“Don’t worry, beautiful. I’ll be seeing you again,” he told me. I realized it was Jake's voice. He was at the auction that day.

Before I could say anything to my class, I jumped off the platform and ran out of my classroom. I scanned the hallways for Jake, but I didn’t see him. I picked up his scent and followed it.

“Hunter.” I called through the mindlink.

“Beautiful, what’s wrong?” He finally answered. But before I could say anything, something pulled me through a door and shoved me into a closet. I heard the lock click and I could smell Jake.

“Finally figured it out, princess.” He taunted me. I had nowhere else to go after he moved closer. He caged me in. My fear and panic rose.

“Hunter, it’s Jake, I need you.” I linked him. Jake must have noticed because he backhanded me, my head whipping to the side. I could taste blood and my head was now pounding.

“Don’t call him for help. You’ll be dead before he gets here. I just wanted to taste you, before I kill you.” He said, licking up my neck.

I was trying to control the fear I was feeling, but my body was shaking as his hands pawed all over me. He ripped open my blouse, and I head butted him in the face. Before I could move, he punched me in the face, knocking me to the ground.

Jake pinned me to the ground and moved in between my legs, and I cursed myself for wearing a skirt today. He ripped the small slit up to my thigh and pushed the skirt up to my hips. I could feel him and I wanted to throw up.

“You’re going to feel who’s the better King, princess.” He said before he bit down on one of my breasts. I screamed out, but he clamped his hand over my mouth. I bit down on his hand, causing him to groan. He moved from my breast to my neck, biting down hard. He wanted me to submit to him, but I’d rather die.

“Stop fighting. You never gave Marcus this much trouble.” He growled. I wiggled one of my arms free and punched him in the face. He sat back on his knees between my legs, holding his nose. I kicked him in the balls and the stomach, pushing away from him.

I was going to have to kill a prince to get out of this alive. Jake composed himself from the blows I had just landed while I tried to calm myself. I needed to think clearly and remember my training and not the trauma that I had endured.

“You are going to pay for that.” Jake growled, crawling towards me. I kicked out my foot, but he grabbed it before it contacted his face. He flipped me onto my back and jumped on my back, pinning me to the floor on my stomach.

“I would enjoy your feistiness if we had more time. I always enjoyed it when they fought back.” He said, and his words made me want to be sick. I wasn’t his first victim and unless I killed him, I wouldn’t be his last.

I threw my head back into his when he was trying to push my skirt back up.

He flipped me back over and punched me in the stomach, knocking the air out of my lungs. While I was wheezing and trying to catch my breath, he ripped off my panties.

Tears started streaming down my face as I fought with everything I had to get away from him. No one else would ever take my choice away from me. With my claws slipping out, I reached up when he was momentarily distracted, thrusting my claws into his chest. His claws dug painfully into my chest, his face looking at me in shock as I ripped his heart out.

Jake’s body flopped forward, and I pushed his body and wiggled out from underneath him. The pain shot through my body as I ripped his claws from my body. Covered in his blood, I pushed myself back until my back hit the wall. I curled my arms around my legs, looking at the scene in front of me.

“Hunter.” I said through the mind link. Seconds later, the door was thrown open and I let out a scream.
